Storyline:
Ponniyin Selvan 1 (aka) Based on Kalki's historical work from fifty years ago, PS 1 is a historical fiction film in Tamil. The majority of the individuals and more of the historical events in the film are real. In addition to Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayaram, Sobhita Dhulipala, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Ashwin Kakumanu, other actors who play supporting roles include R. Sarathkumar, R. Parthiban, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Rahman, and others. The film was made by Mani Ratnam, through his Madras Talkies production company, and Allirajah Subaskaran, through Lyca Productions.
A. R. Rahman created the film's score, while Ravi Varman handled the photography, A. Sreekar Prasad handled the editing, and Thota Tharani handled the production design.
Story
Ponniyin Selvan: The plot of Part 1 centres on Vandiyathevan, a lovely young man who travels to the Chola region to deliver a letter from Crown Prince Aditya Karikalan to the King and the Princess. The young Prince Arulmozhivarman's trips in Sri Lanka and Vandiyathevan's excursions in Chola kingdom alternate throughout the narrative.
